ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Part-time traveller. Full-time storyteller.
Hi! I'm Tom!
A little bit about me...
I chose this picture because it personifies my love for travelling. I currently a full-time teacher of Geography at secondary school and I absolutely love travel and adventure. Within the confines of my career I always try to travel as much as possible but there is nothing I love more than telling the stories of my experiences. I really hope you share in my enjoyment and please get in touch and tell me your own stories. I will literally chat all day!
"I chose this picture of Tom because I think it represents his character and personality as a teacher. Described to have 'infectious enthusiasm' he never fails to see the positive. Tom is a Geography practitioner who has worked closely with the Geographical Association and written for The Chartered College of Teaching. After attending the University of Plymouth to complete his BA (hons) in Geography he travelled before undertaking his PGDipEd in Geography teaching at the University of Birmingham where he will be completing his MA in Teaching Studies 2019/2020. Tom regularly travels and loves to share his experiences in the classroom with his students."
What do others think?
"I chose this picture of Tom simply because this is the face he pulls whenever we are together. Tom is an outstanding teacher of geography that has a real bug for travel, and would now love to combine both passions to help contextual the world for his students in the classroom. Tom and I have been best friends for years, and there is yet to be a dull moment. A real chatty and exciting person to be around, Tom is constantly active, and always on the search for his next activity. Tom and I have had so many good times, from exploring Berlin at New Years, to travelling South East Asia and Indonesia this year. Whilst in Berlin, Tom’s confidence and ability to seek out the unusual in an activity led to many sights and experiences you wouldn’t usually get on a trip around Berlin, some not so desirable, such as the time we were locked inside a fire escape stairwell trying to access a roof top viewpoint! This travel blog should be the making of Tom, and if you follow, should aid you in developing the geographical classroom you dream of!"
